Warwick Prep has achieved great success in many areas during the course of 2024/25.
Academic and Additional Curriculum Information
2024/25
Following the award of places to all girls in Year 6 at King’s High School, thirty-six scholarships and awards (academic, music, sport, art, drama, and all-rounder) were made. Forty boys transferred successfully to Warwick Junior School from Year 2.
English and Drama
In English and Drama, we have enjoyed tremendous success in LAMDA examinations with over 100 entries across all year groups in the Prep department, with 85% awarded Distinction and the remaining 15% awarded Merit.
Music
Our Music department continues to inspire the next generation of instrumentalists with our Pre-Prep Strings Project and Prep Woodwind Project where every child has the opportunity to learn an instrument, with the instruments funded in large part by our PTA, WPSA. Children have gained places in the National Orchestras and Choirs and a large number of children in Years 2 – 6 receive tuition in one or more instruments. Of the Associated Boards examinations taken, there has been an increase to 80% being awarded Merit or Distinction.
We have introduced new ensembles this year, giving more children opportunities to experience the joy of music-making together, including our Year 4 Brass Ensemble and our phenomenally successful Luminae Trio who reached the national Pro Corda Chamber Music finals.
SPORT
We have four classes in each Reception and Pre-Prep year. Classes are limited to a usual maximum of 20 children and are broadly balanced between boys and girls. Each Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class has a fully qualified form teacher and teaching assistant.
