How to join Warwick Prep

We would recommend your start your journey with a visit to Warwick Preparatory School if you have not already been. This can be in the form of a private tour during the school day, or on an open day. Many families do both so they can experience every aspect of the school.

We are happy to welcome you as many times as you would like while you are deciding on the right place for your child.

When you are satisfied that Warwick Preparatory School is the right place for your child, then it’s time to make an application and pay the registration fee. You can do this via our simple online form and we will also require that you upload your child’s long form birth certificate that lists both parents.

Most of our Reception offers are made at the end of the summer a whole year prior to starting at Warwick Prep and places do fill up so we would encourage early registration. Where we have spaces remaining, we typically make a second round of offers later in the autumn term the year before starting at Warwick Prep. After this, we recommend checking to see if spaces are available ahead of registration. We will communicate with you whether your child is being offered a place or not, or placed on a waiting list, and the offers will be made via email using the email addresses provided when you registered.

If you have been made an offer of a place, we will ask you to accept your place by a deadline clearly communicated on your offer letter. To accept your place, we require a copy of the acceptance form signed by all parents with parental responsibility unless we already know that this is not possible (typed signatures are not permitted). We will also ask for payment of the acceptance deposit at the same time – more details on this can be found in your offer letter.

Once we have your acceptance forms and your deposit, you are ready to become a part of our Warwick Prep School community. You will receive more information about joining the School in the terms following acceptance.

You can do this via our simple online form and we will also require that you upload your child’s long form birth certificate that lists both parents.

Once we have your registration, we will contact you to arrange a Taster Day for your son or daughter to experience a day or a morning in the class they may be joining.

Following the taster day, we will then be in a position to let you know whether we are able to offer you a place. We will communicate with you whether your child is being offered a place or not, and the offers will be made via email using the email addresses provided when you registered.

We would usually recommend doing this by the published deadline for our assessment days which are usually held in January and February. If you are applying after this date, we will advise you as to whether any spaces remain. If there are no spaces available, we will keep your daughter’s name on a list and contact you if a space becomes available for her to register and sit the assessment.

Girls joining Warwick Preparatory School from Year 3 onwards are required to sit our Entrance Assessment, based on the National Curriculum of Maths and English. Satisfactory school references and reports are required for all children being considered for a place at Warwick Preparatory School. Entrance Assessment Days are typically held in January or early February prior to entry the following September. However, if places remain available, additional Entrance Assessment Days may take place later in the year.
