Wednesday 9 September – U11 Hockey v Blue Coat
On Wednesday 9 September, two of our U11 teams travelled to The Blue Coat School to compete in their first hockey game of Year 6. Despite only being back in school for three days, the girls displayed excellent skill and teamwork on the pitch. The teams returned to school after a 4-0 win and a 0-2 loss with lots of enthusiasm for the hockey season ahead.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
Congratulations to this week’s Sports Stars of the Week:
• Year 3: Alice for her enthusiasm learning the footwork rule in netball
• Year 4: Aria for showing good control whilst moving the ball in hockey
• Year 5: Flora for listening well to feedback
• Year 6: Shiloh for showing brilliant teamwork and leadership skills during the hockey match vs The Blue Coat
