U11AB Hockey v Bluecoat
On Wednesday 10 September, the U11 A and B teams travelled to The Blue Coat School for their first fixture of the year, eager and ready to compete. The A team played first and showed some great skill and mature decision-making, securing a 3-0 victory. Following them, the B team demonstrated great effort and teamwork, managing to score a goal despite facing a strong opponent, ultimately losing 3-1. Well done to all the girls who played.
Warwick Prep Aquathon
On Thursday 11 September, all girls in the Prep department took part in our annual Aquathon event. Luckily, the wet weather held off during the Year 3, 4, and 5 races. The girls demonstrated tremendous grit and resilience as they challenged themselves to finish the course.
Unfortunately, the weather turned against us during the Year 6 event. While all the girls were able to complete the swim, thunder and lightning forced us to halt the running part of the race for safety reasons. Despite this setback, the Year 6 girls showed great determination and spirit throughout.
The PE department is incredibly proud of every girl’s performance and sportsmanship during the event. It was especially wonderful to see even those who were a little nervous beforehand finish with beaming smiles. What an achievement by all! The winning house will be announced in assembly very soon.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
