U10 & U11 Tennis v Bromsgrove School
On Saturday 7 June, sixteen pupils from Years 5 and 6 had a fabulous time playing tennis matches against Bromsgrove School. There was some excellent play all round with all the girls showing real enthusiasm and having lots of fun, despite it being the first competitive fixture some of the girls had participated in. Well done all!
U10 & U11 IAPS Swimming National Finals
On Saturday 7 June, our incredible swimmers travelled to the London Aquatics Centre to compete in the IAPS National Swimming Finals, having qualified in the top 20 from hundreds of schools across the country. They faced tough competition and achieved the following results:
- U10 Medley relay team (Alice, Bea, Dylan and Ottie) finished 20th with an event personal best time of over 2 seconds
- U11 Medley relay team (Bella, Chloe, Florence and Izzy) finished 16th with an event personal best time of over 5.5 seconds
- Ottie swam Backstroke and finished 20th with an event personal best time of over 1 second
- Bella swam Breaststroke and finished 17th with an event personal best time of over ¾ of a second
- Chloe swam Front Crawl and finished 20th with an event personal best time of over half a second
U10 & U11 CWSSP Athletics Qualifier
On Wednesday 11 June, our U10 and U11 athletes had great success at the CWSSP Athletics Qualifier.
Year 4 Tennis Link Day
On Wednesday 11 June, Year 4 pupils from Warwick Junior School and Warwick Prep School participated in a collaborative tennis Link Event. The pupils engaged in a variety of activities, developing their skills and gaining confidence on the court.
The pupils showed amazing teamwork and everyone had a fun-filled morning! We hope the experience has inspired many of them to continue exploring the sport!
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
