On Saturday 8 June, our swimmers headed to London’s Olympic Pool for the IAPS National Swimming Finals. The girls had already attended a qualifying round and finished in the top 20 in their events to make it this far.
Our Year 5 team of Bella, Isobel, Nehna and Florence were first up in the freestyle relay. They had initially qualified in 18th place. The girls swam incredibly well, managing to move up to 13th in the country taking 5.97 seconds off their total time and achieving personal bests! Well done girls! It was incredible to watch.
Nehna, in Year 5, qualified in the 50m backstroke individual in 18th place and finished in 18th place in the country, having taken over a second and a half off her time.
Isobel, in Year 5, qualified in the 50m butterfly individual in 19th place. She swam incredibly and finished in 13th place in the country, having taken over 3 seconds off her time.
Arabella, in Year 6, qualified for the 50m butterfly individual in 12th place and finished in 12th place in the country, having taken almost a second off her time.
Well done girls, we are incredibly proud of your achievements.
