U11 IAPS Netball Competition
On Friday 7 March, the U11 team had a fabulous day at the IAPS qualifiers. They played an impressive seven matches, starting strong by winning their first five games. In their final two matches, they faced tough competition and narrowly lost to two very strong schools.
The team finished in 3rd place, earning Bronze medals and Lottie received a special medal as Player of the Tournament!
U11 In2Hockey Tournament
On Monday 10 March, the U11 hockey team had a strong start to the competition with a solid win over The Croft. In the second half, the team displayed positive attacking hockey, resulting in good penalty corner goals.
The second match was the toughest against a strong Solihull side which ended in a 1-1 draw after an end-to-end battle.
In the final match against Bablake, the whole team put on a clinical performance which ended with a 5-0 win as a result of the team’s hard work.
Warwick Prep finished as winners of the tournament, crowned County Champions and have qualified for a place at the Regional Finals. Well done, everyone!
U11 Netball
On Wednesday 12 March, the U11 A team had a fantastic netball game against Bromsgrove School. It was their first time playing 7-a-side and they made great progress very quickly. Although they lost narrowly 13-16, they should be happy with their performance.
The U11 B team faced a tough fixture against a strong Bromsgrove side. The teams were very evenly matched across the court, but unfortunately, we lost 7-9. It was a solid first display of 7-a-side netball. Well done, everyone.
A huge congratulations to the U11 C team, who secured a 9-2 win over Bromsgrove. Despite the challenges of adapting to a new set-up and playing 7-a-side, they showed great flexibility, adjusting to different positions on the court.
Well done to the U11 D team, who battled well against a strong Bromsgrove side. Playing 7-a-side for the first time brought a few new challenges but the team adapted brilliantly to new positions and roles. Unfortunately, the result didn’t go our way, but the effort was commendable.
ESSA Prep School Relays
On Thursday 13 March, the Foundation hosted one of the West Midlands qualifying rounds for the English Schools Swimming National Finals. With ten schools in attendance, it was a big competition for our girls.
The U11 team, made up of Bella, Nehna, Chloe and Florence, had a fantastic time. They competed in both the freestyle relay and the medley relay, posting some excellent times.
Now, we eagerly await to see if they finished in the top 3 in the West Midlands and will qualify for the National Finals in Sheffield this June. Good luck, girls!
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
