Year 3 Cricket Link Day
On Thursday, Year 3 pupils from Warwick Prep, Warwick Junior School, The Kingsley School and The Croft came together to play in a Festival of Cricket.
The pupils enjoyed a mix of Kwik Cricket and Pairs Cricket matches, showcasing the bowling, batting and fielding skills they have been working on so hard this term. It was also great to see the teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon.
It was lovely to see so many parents on the sidelines, supporting the players in what was for many their first experience of a cricket match. The children mixed brilliantly across schools, forming new friendships and sharing in the joy of the game. The festival ended with everyone enjoying a well-deserved ice cream!
U11 Fairfield Tennis Tournament
Warwick Prep entered the Fairfield U11 Tennis Tournament this week, joining their compatriots from Warwick Junior School. The girls put on a fabulous display, with two playing in a singles tournament and two pairing up with Warwick Boys in a mixed doubles competition. It was lovely to see all the pupils giving their all and representing the school so well. They even had a chance to meet some of the Loughborough Academy players who shared stories about their journey in tennis.

Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.

• Year 3: Teddy for good batting and fielding awareness
• Year 4: Jeeva for excellent improvement throughout her cricket fixture. Good running between the wickets, good bowling and awesome enthusiasm throughout the fixture
• Year 5: Beatrice for great attitude and teamwork
• Year 6: Prabhjot for excellent and consistent effort in athletics
