U9 Hockey

On Friday 11 October, our U9 hockey teams played their first matches of the season against Bablake. Everyone showed tremendous Squirrel Spirit and made a real effort to improve throughout the matches. The girls had the opportunity to try different positions, putting the skills they have learnt in training into practise! Well done to everyone who took part.

U11 Football

On Wednesday 16 October, our U11 football team experienced a day of mixed emotions at the IAPS tournament in Loughborough. The girls began the group stages with a 0-0 draw against a strong team from Pownall Hall School, then went on to win the next three matches, including a particularly impressive 2-0 victory against Tranby School.

In the quarter-finals, despite dominating possession and having better chances, we were unable to score in regular time and were sadly defeated 2-1 on penalties by Berkhamsted Prep and Pre-Prep School. Despite the disappointing result, the girls learnt a lot and there were plenty of smiling faces throughout the day.

Skiing

Last weekend, the Warwick Prep ski team achieved tremendous success at the ESSKiA Team National Finals. Strong performances from all squad members meant that, for the second year running, the Warwick Prep team were crowned National Champions! We are all very proud of you!

Swimming

On Tuesday 15 October, we hosted our first-ever Warwick 25s Foundation swimming gala, which now joins the Senior Schools’ Warwick 50s and Warwick 100s events. The Warwick 25s is for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and this year, our girls competed against Bablake, Bedford, Berkhamsted, Bilton Grange, Bluecoat, and Edgbaston.

Our girls performed brilliantly, with the Year 6 team in a tight race for the winning title, drawing with Edgbaston before the final event. In the end, our Year 6 team triumphed, winning the Year 6 trophy and both our Year 5 and Year 6 girls secured the overall Girls’ Team Trophy. A special mention goes to Chloe and Nehna, who each came 1st in their individual events.

Year 5

• Hattie: 4th in breaststroke
• Ottie: 2nd in backstroke
• Alice: 4th in front crawl
• Dylan: 4th in butterfly and 3rd in the individual medley

Year 6

• Chloe: 1st in the individual medley
• Nehna: 1st in front crawl
• Isobel: 2nd in butterfly
• Florence: 2nd in backstroke
• Bella: 2nd in breaststroke

U11 Hockey

On Wednesday 16 October, the U11 hockey team traveled to Fairfield for the IAPS regional competition. The group stages began with an undeserved 0-1 defeat against eventual finalists The Elms, despite applying most of the pressure. This was followed by a 3-1 win over Solihull and another close 1-2 loss to Ratcliffe, which meant they progressed to the plate division of the competition.

The girls then really stepped up their game, winning 6-0 in the quarter finals and 4-0 in the semi final against The Croft. A fabulous display of hockey saw them save their best for last, beating the hosts, Fairfield, 4-0 in the final to become plate champions. Well done to the whole team!
