U11 IAPS Hockey
On Friday 25 September, a team of our Year 5 and Year 6 hockey players played in the IAPS Hockey Qualifiers Tournament at St Edward’s. The girls played some brilliant hockey throughout the day and quickly stepped up to the fast pace of play at the tournament. During the group stages, the team’s results were 1-2 vs Cranleigh, 0-1 vs Winchester House, 0-0 vs The Oratory Prep. This placed them 3rd in their group and earned them a place in the plate competition.
During the semi-finals of the plate, the girls beat KES Southampton 1-0. This placed them in the final vs Cheam. After a 0-0 draw at full time, the game went to shuffles where the team unfortunately lost. Well done to the girls for winning the Silver medal in the plate. Thank you to the family members who were able to come along and support the team.

U11 Hockey vs Bromsgrove
On Wednesday 30 September, four U11 teams travelled to Bromsgrove to play in a hockey fixture.
Ms Gracy’s team focussed on keeping their formation and increasing their defensive presence on the pitch. The girls moved the ball nicely down the pitch but unfortunately the goals did not come and the game ended in a 0-2 loss.
Mr Proctor’s team worked on using the width of the pitch as well as their positioning on the pitch. The game ended in a 0-2 loss.
Miss Johstone’s team faced some tough competition, but there were some great improvements throughout the game. As the match progressed, the girls started to find good space on the pitch and our positioning significantly improved. The girls showed great attacking play, particularly when dribbling with the ball. The team had some great opportunities and positive movements to build on and came away with a 4-0 loss.
Mrs Cleaver congratulated her team as even though they lost 1-4, they defended hard against some strong attacking players. During the second half, the girls found some more space and were able to push forward creating their goal. Well done to all girls who played and thank you to the spectators who came to support.
