ESSA Swimming Finals
On Saturday 14 June, our Warwick Prep swim team travelled to Sheffield to represent the West Midlands at the English School National Swimming Finals. The girls qualified for both relay events.
In the medley relay, they secured 15th place, earning a spot in the final where they swam an incredible personal best and finished 13th in the country. Next was the freestyle relay, and once again, they impressed, securing 16th place to sneak into the final. There, they achieved another personal best and moved up to 14th in the country.
It has been an incredible year for the U11 team and we are so proud of them. Well done Bella, Chloe, Florence and Nehna!
U10 Cricket v Bablake
On Monday 16 June, the Year 5 girls attended an U10 cricket fixture against Bablake. The girls showed real improvement in their bowling but now they must keep working on the batting. Well done to the B-team who were outstanding.
U8 & U9 CWSSP Athletics
Well done to our Year 3 and 4 athletes who competed at the CWSSP Athletics competition on Tuesday 17 June. As their first-ever competition representing Warwick Prep in Athletics, they delivered some dominant performances. Congratulations to Stella, Amber, Hattie, Lily, Tara, Amelia and Emma, who qualified for the Warwickshire Schools Finals.
U11 Cricket v Bluecoat
On Wednesday 18 June, all the Year 6 girls competed in cricket fixtures against Bluecoat as part of a Link Event with Warwick Junior School. The fixture included four competitive hard ball matches and six soft ball games.
It was wonderful to see eight girls playing hard ball cricket for the first time, with all the children showing great teamwork and supporting one another.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
