U11A-H Netball v RGS The Grange
On Wednesday 25 February, all Year 6 girls took part in a whole year group netball fixture at home against RGS. The girls all played exceptionally well and showed great enthusiasm across all eight teams. The fixtures ended with six wins to Warwick Prep, one draw and one loss. Well done to all the girls who took part in the fixture.
The U11C team had a closely contested game against RGS on Wednesday. The teams were very well matched in all areas of the court. With a strong start from RGS, the Prep girls left themselves a lot to do in the second half. With some excellent attacking play and shooting stats, the team managed to claw back the deficit but it wasn’t quite enough with the game ending 5-4 to RGS. It was an excellent game of netball both sides. Well done all!
U8A-I Netball v Blue Coat School
On Thursday 26 February, all of the Year 3 girls proudly represented Warwick Prep in their first ever netball fixture, playing away against The Blue Coat School. Shortly before we arrived, the rain began, meaning the matches were moved indoors to the sports hall. For many, this was their first experience of competitive netball, and they rose to the challenge superbly. Throughout the games, they demonstrated excellent teamwork, growing confidence and fantastic sportsmanship. Well done to every girl who took part. Thank you as well to all the parents and spectators for your support from the sidelines.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
