U10/U11 Warwick Prep Netball Tournament
On Saturday 24 January, the U10s had a fabulous morning playing in the Warwick Prep Netball Tournament. The round-robin format saw them play six different schools and there was huge development from the team as the day went on. They managed three wins, a very well contested draw and two losses to finish in 4th place overall, just missing out on 3rd place on goal difference. It was fabulous to see the girls all working so hard and enjoying the experience of tournament play. Well done!
Warwick 50s Swimming Gala
On Thursday 29 January, the annual Warwick 50s, hosted by the Foundation, saw twelve schools in each age group compete. The U12 competition is always tough for our U11 girls, but they rose to the challenge.
Arabelle swam an incredible time in the individual medley, Ottie showcased her improved tumble turns, Chloe impressed with her underwater work, Ella held her own in the butterfly and Emilia proved she is one to watch, finishing 6th with a time of 36 seconds. Well done, girls!
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
Congratulations to this week’s Sports Stars of the Week:
• Year 3: Callista, Cassie and Olivia for excellent teamwork and drives onto the ball
• Year 4: Posy for good decision-making when passing and worked hard on improving her footwork
• Year 5: Annabel for her resilience during her cross country race
• Year 6: Gabby for great effort in badminton. Her mobility was good and she made her opponent move around the court
