U11 Central Warwickshire Football Finals
On Friday 27 June, the U11 girls earned their place at the Central Warwickshire Football Finals. They started strongly, delivering a confident performance to beat Barford Primary School 5–0 in the quarter-finals.
A tightly contested semi-final followed against Coten End, with the team battling hard and equalising to take the game to extra time, before narrowly losing 2–1.
In the third-place play-off, Warwick Prep made a bright start against Telford Primary and took an early lead but couldn’t extend their advantage. After a close contest, they were unfortunate to lose on penalties.
The girls should be proud of their development throughout the season and the character they showed on finals day.
EssKIA Indoor Schools Skiing Championships
On Monday 30 June, Prep members of the Foundation Ski Team attended the English Schools’ Ski Association Indoor Championships, held at Hemel Snow Centre. The day was packed with high-level competition and the pupils rose to the challenge with skill, composure, and determination.
The Category 1 team, Loretta, Bea and Ottie, achieved 1st podium position, demonstrating excellent teamwork. It was a brilliant day of racing a proud moment for the team.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News. Congratulations to the following:
