U10 & U11 Swimming Gala v Bablake and Warwick Junior School
On Monday 2 June, our U10 and U11 swimmers took part in a gala where they successfully beat Bablake. There were some close races and it was a fantastic opportunity for our IAPS finalists to compete against Warwick Junior School. The girls have been working hard all year on their starts and relay takeovers and it’s clear that their efforts are paying off!
U11ABCD Cricket v Bromsgrove
On Wednesday 4 June, the Year 6 girls performed brilliantly against strong opposition from Bromsgrove School. It was fantastic to see the continued progression in cricket throughout the term. The fixture ended with two wins and two losses – a really positive experience for all pupils involved.
U8, U9, U10 & U11 Swimming Gala v Edgbaston
On Thursday 5 June, our U8, U9, U10 and U11 swimmers faced tough competition against Edgbaston High School. The Year 3 and Year 4 teams were strong, demonstrating excellent technique and speed. The Year 5 and Year 6 girls battled it out with some close finishes resulting in a narrow overall win for Edgbaston. The atmosphere was fantastic, with the girls entering to music and enjoying a lovely meal with the opposition afterwards.
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News. Congratulations to the following:

• Year 5: Avaani for awesome batting during Games lessons and Dylan for amazing bowling, developing her run-up, and working hard on her follow-through after releasing the ball
• Year 6: Sophia for excellent batting and overall performance in the cricket fixture
