ISGA Gymnastics 5 Piece
On Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 March, the U9 and U11 girls competed in the Independent Schools Gymnastics Association 5 piece competition at Tormead School in Surrey. The 5 pieces are made up of a set vault, voluntary vault, set floor, voluntary floor and group routine.
For our U9 team, this was the first competition of this style and they handled it brilliantly. The girls performed exceptionally well, bringing together everything they have learnt so far this year. They are awaiting the results and look forward to hearing how they have done. Well done, girls!
IAPS U10 & U11 Swimming Qualifiers
We hosted an IAPS swimming qualifier, welcoming twelve schools to compete against our pupils. It was an excellent event and our girls did us proud.
The U10 team of Beatrice, Dylan, Ottie, Alice and Hattie and the U11 team of Bella, Nehna, Chloe and Florence swam their hearts out, achieving some excellent personal best times.
The girls will now have to wait until May to find out if they are successful in placing in the top twenty schools in the country, securing a spot at the finals in June.
U11 Netball
The U11 team had a block fixture against The Manor Prep, with six teams getting out to play which was excellent. There were many strong performances across the year group, with some solid results. Well done, everyone!
Sports Stars of the Week
Each week during games lessons, PE staff will identify one child from each year group to receive the Sports Star of the Week award. These will be announced in the following week’s games lesson, displayed on the sports noticeboard and publicised in Squirrel News.
